Darwin 4x4 Centre has been wrecking, repairing and selling parts for 4x4s in the Top End for over 20 years. We run a wrecking yard, a parts counter that freights Australia-wide, and a workshop that handles everything from logbook services to manual gearbox and diff rebuilds.

Open roles
4x4 Mechanic
Full time · Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm · Winnellie
Service, diagnose and repair 4x4s, utes and vans of every make, and fit the used parts that come off our own shelves.
What you'll do
- Logbook servicing and general repairs on 4x4s, utes and vans
- Diagnosing faults and explaining the fix to customers in plain terms
- Fitting used and reconditioned engines, gearboxes, diffs and suspension
- Brakes, clutches, cooling systems, timing belts and chains
- Fitting RAW 4X4 suspension and lift kits
- Helping with manual gearbox and diff rebuilds
What you'll need
- Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent trade qualification
- Experience working on 4x4s and diesels
- A current driver's licence
- Able to work on your own and keep jobs moving
Nice to have: Experience with older Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi 4x4s, or with gearbox and diff rebuilds.
Parts Salesperson
Full time · Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm · Winnellie
Be the first point of contact for customers chasing parts, over the counter, on the phone and through the website.
What you'll do
- Taking parts enquiries over the counter, on the phone and online
- Finding the right part from the rego, VIN, build date and part numbers
- Checking our stock and sourcing from our network of 300+ wrecking yards
- Quoting prices and freight, and processing sales
- Booking freight for parts sent around Australia
- Following up quotes and keeping customers in the loop
What you'll need
- Good knowledge of 4x4 and ute parts, from a workshop, wrecker or parts store
- Clear, friendly communication on the phone and in person
- Comfortable with computers, email and point-of-sale systems
- A current driver's licence
Nice to have: Experience in a wrecking yard, or interpreting parts catalogues.
Logistics and Inventory
Full time · Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm · Winnellie
Keep the yard and the shelves organised so every part can be found, sold and sent on time.
What you'll do
- Receiving, cleaning, labelling and racking parts from dismantled vehicles
- Recording stock in our inventory system so it can be found and sold
- Picking, packing and wrapping parts, from small items to engines and gearboxes
- Booking and loading freight, and keeping dispatch on time
- Regular stocktakes, and keeping the racking tidy and safe
- Moving vehicles and parts around the yard
What you'll need
- A forklift licence (LF), or willing to get one
- A current driver's licence
- Organised, reliable and careful with detail
- Fit for lifting and outdoor work in Darwin's climate
Nice to have: Warehouse, wrecking or freight experience, and basic computer skills.
