Fleet story
Keeping Kakadu's fleet on the track
Kakadu is hard on a 4x4. Corrugated gravel, sand, creek crossings, and a wet season that closes roads for months. The Kakadu National Park fleet is 85 vehicles, and we look after them.
Parks vehicles use every bit of their capability, and that work takes its toll on suspension, diffs, bars, panels and wiring. Some are driven in, some arrive on the back of a tow truck. Either way, the job is the same: get it fixed properly and back out working.
Each vehicle gets a priority slot in our Winnellie workshop. When a part is hard to get new, we pull it from our own yard or our network of 300+ wrecking yards, instead of leaving the vehicle sitting while it waits on a dealer. Every vehicle is serviced to schedule, and Parks has one account and one monthly invoice for the lot.

Cam brought his GQ Patrol in for a locker, a full front diff rebuild, a high-flow water pump and some electrical work.

A minor service that found a major problem
Hugh uses his 4x4 for hard bush work. He booked a minor service and asked for a thorough check. The check found a fault that could have stopped him somewhere remote, and Sean called him before going further than the original job. See servicing.
"The guys were exceptionally thorough and found an issue that very soon had the potential to stop me in my tracks while I was somewhere remote. He's a straight shooter and tells you exactly where things stand."

Back out bush by Monday
Kiarra's vehicle had to be finished in a hurry so it could go back out bush. Taz and Sean got it in and out in time.

Booked out, but still helped
