When an engine is past saving, the choice is usually between replacing the vehicle and replacing the engine. For a 4WD or ute that's otherwise in good shape, a replacement engine is often the cheaper way back on the road.
We replace and rebuild engines in 4WDs, utes and vans at our Winnellie workshop, and we supply the engines too.
Signs of a serious engine problem
- Knocking or rattling from the bottom end
- Heavy oil use or blue smoke
- Low compression or a misfire that won't clear
- Coolant in the oil, or oil in the coolant
- An engine that has overheated badly or seized

Replacement engines
We stock used and reconditioned 4x4 engines for Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Ford, Holden, Isuzu, Mazda and more, and we source others from 300+ of Australia's best wrecking yards. That includes engines for older models that dealers no longer supply.
Engines are sold as a bare long block. Engine warranty depends on certain parts being replaced at fitting, such as the main seals, timing belt or chain, water pump and thermostat. The full conditions are in our terms of sale. When we fit the engine, we'll quote those parts up front.
Used parts come with our 3-month Silver warranty, and you can upgrade any part to Gold (6 months) or Platinum (12 months) when you buy. Our workmanship is covered for 3 months or 5,000 km, whichever comes first.
